A DIN 6798 Type A (also known as an external serrated lock washer or star washer) is an anti-vibration fastener featuring twisted teeth on its outer circumference. The primary purpose of a DIN 6798A washer is to prevent spontaneous loosening of bolted joints under vibration while simultaneously improving mechanical and electrical stability.
